National Federation of Public and Private Employees

In recognizing the need for representation in the workplace, the National Federation of Public and Private Employees is created for the purpose of organizing workers in the private and public sectors of all trades, labor and industry. The goals of this union are to improve the working conditions, wages and fringe benefits of all members and to achieve objectives as set forth in its Constitution.

This Union shall be empowered to negotiate contracts covering wages, hours and other terms and conditions of employment in accordance with the laws, customs, and requirements so constituted and in accordance with the best interests of the labor movement.

This Union being duly formed is empowered and authorized to initiate into its membership any person or persons in accordance with its own laws not in conflict with its Charter and Constitution, and the rules and regulations of the National Federation of Public and Private Employees in convention made and as revised and amended from time to time. The National Federation of Public and Private Employees will have the ability at its own discretion to grant charters to other unions that conduct business in the best interests of their membership and labor in general. The integrity of such unions will be maintained and preserved at all times.

The National Federation of Public and Private Employees herby binds itself to support local unions in the exercise of their rights, privileges, and prerogatives.

The autonomy of the National Federation of Public and Private Employees is hereby ordained and secured.

In witness thereof, we have subscribed our names and affixed the seal of the National Federation of Public and Private Employees this ninth day of April, A.D., one thousand nine hundred and ninety-four. Original Officers and Founding Members
